The Katagami Exhibition: Japanese Carved Paper
will be touring the UK 2009/10
This exhibition includes some of the most visually striking, technically challenging and unusual examples of Japanese craftsmanship dating from the 14th century to the present day, bringing together a magnificent archive of Japanese two dimensional design.
Features include, textiles, books, over 100 framed patterns from the personal collection of Maxine Hullock, a katagami projection show and armour from the Cliffe Castle collection dated from the Muromachi period (1336-1573) which shows early Katagami stencil work.
